The Time We Got a Boat

As we on Lee Street have so much free time, on a Saturday Jim decided we were ready to invest in a sailboat.

On a Monday we spent 15 hours getting it. You see, Jim couldn't possibly have found the perfect sloop somewhere local to us, we don't live anywhere near a major body of water or anything. Nope. Jim found his perfect sailboat just North of Northport Michigan. At the tip of the mitten's pinky.

So, we woke up at 5 am, loaded Hunter in the car and took off. We ate at great places like McDonalds.

Getting there was easy.

Then Jim had to make sure his sloop passed the float test.

It passed with flying colors. Hunter and I enjoyed the marina, I think he was more in to the geese than me though.

Then, we headed back... We could only go 50 miles per hour, and of course the AC in the Buick is out. The return trip took seven hours. Hunter took full advantage of the window.

And then peaced out in the most uncomfortable position ever....

The Buick passed 200,000 miles.

And now we own a sailboat.
